About The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions

The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions is the Odys Blue Ocean service that gets brands mentioned, in context, across a large private network of real, indexed publications, so AI engines can find, read about and cite them. It sits inside Odys Global, a holding company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, with close to twenty years of research and development.

The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions exists for one kind of brand: one that people ask AI about, in its own category, and that the AI does not name. We fix the first part of that problem, which is getting known. We place brand mentions in context across a large private network of real, indexed publications, so engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode can find, read about and cite the brand.

Service The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions This site: the service that gets brands mentioned, in context, where AI engines read

Odys Global operates multiple business units, projects, media channels and companies, among them Odys Marketplace, Odys iGaming, Odys Mentors, Odys Events and Odys Podcast. Its team works remotely around the world, with a few offices on different continents.

Odys Blue Ocean is the business unit, and the direction the company has taken. It is a family of services, each with its own site and each built for one specific problem. The slogan says it plainly: “Your blue-ocean growth partner, globally.” The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions is one service in that family. When this site says “we”, it means the Odys Blue Ocean team.

Why does this service exist?

Because many brands that want to be recommended by ChatGPT are not yet known to it at all. They ask an assistant “what are the best project management tools for small agencies?” or “where can I buy trail running shoes in Austin?”, and their name never comes up. Before an engine can recommend a brand, it has to know the brand exists and what it is for. For most brands with zero AI visibility, getting known is step 1.

AI engines learn about brands from two places: what was in their training data before a cutoff date, and what they retrieve from the live web when someone asks. In both cases, most of what they read about a brand comes from other people’s websites. McKinsey found that brand-owned sites make up only about 5 to 10% of the sources AI search references. Industry studies point the same way: across 75,000 brands, Ahrefs found that web mentions were the factor most closely linked to appearing in AI Overviews. That is a correlation, not proof of cause, but it matches how the engines are documented to work. The pillar guide on why AI search runs on brand mentions explains the evidence in full.

What The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions does

We get a brand mentioned in context: next to its category, its use case and its market, in many niches, countries and languages. These are the kinds of independent publications AI engines read, retrieve and cite. First mentions typically go live within 30 minutes of kickoff, and more are added over time. “Live” means published. When, and whether, a given engine picks them up depends on indexing, retrieval and model updates, and that varies by engine and topic.

Every client gets the same core:

  • a free AI visibility check before starting, where we ask the engines the questions your buyers ask and show where you stand;
  • brand facts you approve once, so every mention describes you the same way;
  • mentions written by us;
  • the live URL of every placement and its indexing status;
  • re-checks of AI visibility afterwards across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews.

The service suits brands AI never or rarely names, new brands, brands entering a new market, brands AI knows for the wrong things, e-commerce and SaaS teams, local businesses, service firms and personal brands. How we place and measure mentions is set out on our methodology page.

What we will not do

Some lines hold for every client. We never write fake reviews or testimonials, invented awards, numbers or claims. We never attack competitors. We do not promote products that are illegal in the target market, and we do not make misleading health or financial promises. Mentions sit on independent publications, never on the client’s own site. Where a link is included, it follows Google’s rules for paid placements, marked rel=”sponsored” or nofollow, and placements follow each publisher’s rules and the disclosure rules of each market.

We also never promise that an AI engine will mention, cite or recommend anyone by a given date. AI answers vary run to run, so results are measured, not promised.

What comes after getting known?

Being known and being recommended are different things. Once engines know a brand and what it does, the next question is whether it is named near the top when buyers ask for a recommendation. That is step 2, handled by our sister service TheBlueOceanGPT.com, which works on getting brands consistently named near the top of ChatGPT answers for their topics. Brands that AI already knows well can go straight to step 2. The rest of the services are listed on the Blue Ocean family page.

Research and development

What the Blue Ocean family has in common is close to twenty years of research and development at Odys Global. The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions applies that work to a specific question: how a brand becomes something AI engines can find, describe correctly and cite, using real publications and honest measurement rather than tricks. Every service in the family starts the same way, by measuring first and saying plainly what was found.

How to get in touch

The only contact route is the short form on the homepage: get a free AI visibility check. Tell us your brand, your category, the markets you sell in and the competitors AI names instead of you. We read what you send before we reply, so the first conversation is about your brand, not about us. If you want a first read on your own before then, the free AI visibility self-check shows you how to test it in a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What is The Blue Ocean Brand Mentions?

It is the Odys Blue Ocean service for brands that AI engines rarely or never name. We get the brand mentioned, in context, next to its category, use case and market, across a large private network of real, indexed publications. First mentions typically go live within 30 minutes of kickoff, and we re-check AI visibility afterwards. It is step 1 of two: get known, then get recommended.
